Robin Culler

Originally from Maryland, I am happy to call New Fairfield my home. I have one son living here in CT and one still residing in MD. I was employed for nearly 20 years in various positions at Green Chimneys School in Brewster, NY. While there, I divided my years between being a Speech and Language Tutor, to High School Science Teacher Assistant to Teacher Assistant in a classroom for children with Autism. I even got heavily involved in shark conservation, creating a group called the Shark Finatics! We were honored as Oceana’s Junior Ocean Heroes, as we made friends around the world.

Recently retired from the classroom, I continue to work at the Green Chimney’s Country Store at Boni Bel. This is a vocational site for students of the school who might not be college bound but are in need of employable skills. I help train the students in retail skills, such as: customer service, register, inventory, receiving shipments, etc. It’s a wonderful little store giving students the opportunity to gain retail experience.

At the same time I worked in the school, I also held down the position as a Physical Therapy Tech at Physical Therapy Arts in New Fairfield. I spent nearly 14 years there performing such duties as assisting the therapists with their patients as well as front desk work.

Along the way at PT Arts, I met Patricia. We formed a friendship and a respect for each other in our various roles. I watched her grow her practice and as well, witnessed her extreme dedication to her patients. Her work ethic is to be admired as she always gives fully of herself.

Patricia opened the doors to Acupuncture Works at its present location in 2014. When the position came open for front desk help in 2015, I made the move. I have very much enjoyed meeting many wonderful people of this town as well as many others who travel to see Patricia for treatment. The wonderfully calm atmosphere at Acupuncture Works makes my position as Office Manager seem like a gift!

Full retirement is definitely not on the horizon for me, especially since I bought a little fixer-upper in 2017, with projects galore! Since I have cut down on my work hours, I now have more time to spend with my two wonderful grandchildren. Life is good!
